Pianist Dan Yu, enjoys a multifaceted career as a solo and collaborative classical pianist, and also a piano educator. He worked with famed Russian pianist Vitaly Margulis for his University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) piano performance bachelor degree, and obtained his master’s degree in piano performance under Professor Antoinette Perry at the University of Southern California (USC).  He had played numerous solo, chamber recitals in the United States and in China.  For his teaching career, he held his own masterclass in China, and his students won many competitions in San Diego.  In 2017, he was on the jury of the Hong Kong International Music Foundation Competition (North America branch). In July 2022, he was on the jury panel for the 3rd International Piano Competition for Outstanding Amateurs which was held at the Conrad Performing Arts Center, La Jolla. In December 2023, he captured the 1st prize of IAPMT (International Association of Professional Music Teachers) piano competition in the“Virtuoso” category, and subsequently was invited to perform at the Carnegie Hall in NYC.
